2026: 100 Years of the Legion, join free

In 2026, The Royal Canadian Legion marks 100 years of service to Veterans and their families, Remembrance, and community support. Our Branch is proud to be part of that story, and we’re making this a year of welcoming new faces, strengthening our community, and celebrating what the Legion continues to do today.

Starting January 5, 2026, anyone who has never been a Legion member before can join in 2026 at no cost as a Centenary Member. This is a one-year welcome that lets you experience the Legion, meet people, and find the parts of Branch life that fit you best.

Membership is not just for Veterans. The Legion is made up of Veterans, families of Veterans, and Canadians who simply want to support those who serve and strengthen their community.

Win Big: you could drive away in a truck

All members have a chance to win in the Legion 100 Win Big Giveaway, with the Grand Prize being a 2026 Ford F-150 STX. No extra action by you is required. Your name was entered automatically when you renewed your membership.

New Centenary Members get an Entry when you renew your membership for 2027.

Be part of what happens here

A stronger membership means more energy in the Branch: more volunteers when we need a hand, more participation in events, and more voices helping shape what we do next.

A lot of people still think the Legion is “just a bar.” It’s not. It’s a support to advocate for the care and benefits for all who served Canada, regardless of when or where they served. Its a community that’s dedicated to remembering those who have sacrificed for us and our space is a community center that happens to also have a liquor license for fundraising and member events.

The Legion exists to support Veterans and their families, and to strengthen our community. Funds raised through the Poppy Fund help provide meaningful Veteran supports, and the work we do locally also means donations and practical help that go straight back into the community.

Here are just a few examples of the kinds of programs and causes our events supports:

  • Veteran supports funded through the Poppy Fund
  • Community donations that help local groups and needs
  • Sports and kids’ clubs
  • Community Nourishment Market and food bank supports
  • Scholarships
  • Support for the hospital

When you join, you’re not just buying a membership. You’re backing a place that helps people, funds real programs, and shows up for the community all year long. And if you want to be part of it, there are lots of ways, from attending events, to lending a hand when you can, to bringing new ideas that help us do even more.

There are no required volunteer hours, but if you can help occasionally, or even just show up to support events, it makes a real difference.

Help us build better meetings

In 2026, we’re aiming to increase participation in our General Meetings. They are held at 6:00 pm on the third Monday of every month. If you’ve ever wondered what the Branch is working on, have ideas or opinions or just want to know better what we do, please come out and add your voice. Even a small turnout can create big momentum.

Follow along all year

This page is our Centenary Year hub. We will keep it updated with new posts, announcements, and ways to get involved and just maybe, more chances to add your name again for the truck.

Starting January 5, 2026, join us, bring a friend, and be part of our next 100 years.
